The 2016 photo tour will be broken into two sections. The photo workshop will be held at the beginning of the tour (May 11 – 14) and is on an opt-in basis. It is not required, but strongly recommended for those looking to take better control of their photography.

WORKSHOP: There will be an intensive two-day photo workshop over four days, suitable for beginner’s or those who are looking to improve their photography through better composition and taking control of their camera by shooting on full manual mode. Topics to be covered include aperture, iso, shutter speed, histogram and discussions on the ethics of photography. Also included will be a workshop on basic low light photography. All skills will be taught in classroom and then practiced extensively throughout the streets of Istanbul before joining the main part of the photo tour where you will have a better understanding of your camera and new skills to help you capture amazing photos of a diverse country.

PHOTO TOUR: The photo tour itself will be concentrated on taking the group to exceptional destinations to capture the essence of Turkey: Through the lens. You will visit Selcuk, Ephesus, Pammukale, Fethiye and Cappadocia, but with less talking and more time to photograph than a typical group tour. You will visit off the beaten track areas that are less touristy and you’ll get a feel for the local side of Turkey. From a sunrise hot air balloon ride to sunsets over Rose Valley to sunset on a private Gulet boat dinner cruise, you’ll see some of the best sights of Turkey at the best time of day for beautiful lighting and striking photos.
